Based on the novel "Push", an obese and poorly educated girl about to have her second child enrolls into an alternative school to fight for the life she deserves. Set in Harlem, this film is rough to watch with harsh language and scenes of abuse, but excellent casting makes for a powerful impact. Life has never been depicted in such a raw perspective as that of young Precious.

A group of activists led by dolphin trainer Ric O’Barry (known for Flipper) unite in a cause to expose the political cover-up. The film was done well without stressing religion too much or dwelling excessively on the boy's past. A good pick for the holiday season.

He brings his team to help sweep the cars out and turn a big profit in record time, but runs into competition along the way. A basic story with ridiculous characters (even a role for Will Ferrell) is good for a few laughs.

This is a classic guy flick including drugs, a newborn, gambling, a tiger, Mike Tyson and other oddities that are sure to make you laugh. Over time her lies progress once she discovers the perks to having a bun in the oven such as free food and a promotion. Lindsay Lohan has poor acting skills to play the lead role but the story plot was interesting with light humor.

Aliens have landed in Africa and are living on our world in a slum district. When a government official tries to relocate the group to another area, trust plays a factor in the existence of both aliens and humans. I was pleasantly surprised by the thought in the sci-fi details as well as a well written script. Before I felt uncertain, but now its my top recommendation of artistic talent you should watch.

Two corporate spies played by Julia Roberts and Clive Owen team up to pull a con job that will land them a fortune. I felt the characters lacked chemistry unlike their past performance in "Closer". However, there was a twist at the end that made the slow build up of the movie worth the laugh.

Dennis Quaid stars as a detective who discovers a connection between himself and the suspects in a serial killing spree linked to the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. A man (Brad Pitt) who enters life with a curious case of aging backwards is a lengthy film but a masterpiece nonetheless. Similar to "Forrest Gump (1994)", this story works through several decades in the history of two lovers. Life isn't measured in minutes, its measured in moments as precious as these.

How valuable is a security guard to a mall? Pretty much what you would assume. This movie drags on and is predictable. Overall, the classic scene would have to be Paul playing the guitar at the arcade and getting a little carried away while the mall is broke into.

Two football hotties decide to ditch football camp and go to cheer camp instead for the summer in an attempt to get laid. A funny idea, but too much dry humor made the film drag on. For a film focused on cheer they could of at least shown more complex pyramids or competition action than uneventful high school dialogue.

A wonderful comedy about paranoid snoops in a neighborhood where they have too much free time on their hands. A definite must see classic film.

Set in a barber shop in London, Johnny Depp stars in this Broadway adaptation. Having seen this story on stage I expected more out of this film and was disappointed. The costumes were highly detailed yet the acting lacked the emotion and dark humor of seeing it preformed live.

Teens who have read the book may tell you this film was dreamy, but don't be fooled. The romance of a teen in love with a vampire is nothing too adventurous as depicted in this film that almost put me to sleep. While the cast may have sex appeal, the low quality of the film and script may leave you disappointed also.

"Monsters" work together to help save our planet from yet another invasion. This film includes popular voices from Seth Rogan and Reese Witherspoon, however the animation and comedy were lacking in my opinion. I heard it was better experience seen in 3-D.

If you were hoping for an intense X-Men intro film, this will not meet your expectations. While Hugh Jackman (Wolverine) has a hot new bod and they introduce new character favorites such as Gambit the movie zipped through all the important "origin" details. There are still fast paced fight scenes, but the character development of Wolverine leaves more to be desired.

James Kirk (Chris Pine) is brought back to life along with the rest of the USS Enterprise crew to save space. An interesting new take on the origional hit with nice interjections of humor. The costumes and CGI are not over the top. A great way to kick off the summer!

After twenty minutes into the film I went from invested into the characters (especially the dog Lucy) to thinking Wendy was an idiot. Rule one of making any story: make the main character someone likable. One of the worst films I've watched this year, sadly.

John Connor (Christian Bale) is at it again defending humanity against the machines. Amazing use of technology without going over the top with sci-fi lingo. Great summer film with plenty of action (just about everything gets blown up) and fight scenes that make this an enjoyable film. Let's hope there is another sequel coming soon!

You don't have to be a comic book nerd to appreciate this 2.5 hour superhero thriller. Wonderful cast and stunning CGI work. After watching this film than reading the graphic novel I am able to fully appreciate the planning that went into staying true to the story without condensing the literary details. Such a great movie you are guaranteed to see it more than just once.
